679 Mandarin Chinese 1 H / 679A Manarin Chinese 1 ACP
Gr 9 - 12 | 6 Credits | Year-Long | 5x per Cycle
Mandarin Chinese 1 develops language proficiency in three modes: Interpersonal (Two-way, unrehearsed communication between individuals); Interpretive (One-way communication using receptive skills of listening and reading); and Presentational (One-way communication using productive skills of speaking and writing) as well as intercultural knowledge and communication.
Performance Target: Novice-High on the ACTFL scale.
Students who successfully completed 8th grade Chinese may not register for Chinese 1 without prior approval from their WMS Chinese teacher and the CML department head.

I use sentences, and simple questions. I begin to combine words and phrases to create original sentences.
I convey my knowledge of a few basic cultural products and practices.
My errors with targeted structures and/or word order do not interfere with communication.
Honors:
