Gr 11 - 12 | 6 Credits | Year-Long | 5x per Cycle

This fourth-year course offers a variety of thematically-based units that include culture, literature, and grammar for review. The students will study international immigration trends around the world as well as those specific to Germany and how this impacts the lives of Germans and immigrants themselves. Students will also study the history of the Third Reich and Nazi Germany, why and how people resisted and how/why democracies are endangered around the world today. Students are expected to communicate in German to the best of their abilities.

Performance Target: Intermediate-High on the ACTFL scale.

This course is offered at the combined ACP/Honors level. Students will be placed in the Honors section for scheduling purposes only. Students will be able to designate which level they would like to be assessed at in the fall once they learn about course expectations.
