815 Sculpture 1

Gr 9-12 | 1.5 Credits | Semester-Long | 3x per Cycle


Students will be introduced to a variety of materials and techniques to build/construct three-dimensional forms in the round as well as relief structures.  As students begin to understand the basic differences between additive and subtractive sculptural working, they will also gain more independence with hand tools and skills/techniques. Emphasis will be placed on correct use of all equipment, an understanding of studio routines, and health and safety precautions. This course will focus on smallish-scale sculptural objects. Students will create original design solutions to assigned class projects. Students will work on both long term complete projects and several quicker sculpture project. (This is not a Ceramics course.) 

This class can be taken more than once.
