Cornerstones is a therapeutic learning center designed to assist students with social and emotional challenges. We employ a student-centered, strength-based approach that addresses the unique needs of each student. 966M Cornerstones Math

 A small group, or individualized math class where students work on their fundamental math skills as well as understanding larger mathematical concepts. Differentiated instruction is used so that each student can maximize his or her mathematical potential and grow as a critical thinker. Students will become mentally stronger and more independent learners as they are challenged to ask “Why?” while working through concepts from Algebra One to Statistical Analysis.  

966E Cornerstones English 

Cornerstones English is an English course with a highly individualized and differentiated approach that has students meet the same standards as a traditional English course, but with an innovative and project based format. The classroom culture of Cornerstones English is conducive to promoting and engaging the inherent strengths of the individual students and in deploying their personal strengths to aid their education and learning. The course is organized around thematic units of study that is driven by essential questions and student-driven inquiry.

966PE Cornerstones PE/Health 

Cornerstones PE/Health focuses on both physical and mental fitness. The course hopes to help students improve their physical well-being and cardiovascular fitness in an accepting and encouraging environment. The course will also address the social/emotional skill building needed to build resilience and emotional regulation. These skills include core mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness.
