I started at Hardy in 2003 and have enjoyed every year I have been here. It truly is a special place. I graduated from Framingham Sate College with a Bachelor's in Psychology, received my Post-Baccalaureate teaching certification from Bridgewater State College, and my Master's in Education Degree from Plymouth State University with a focus in Project Adventure.
My wife and I have two boys, born and adopted in 2007 and 2010. I love and need to run, and also bike as my primary activities. I have a musical background, having played a variety of instruments as a child and I continue to play piano. I also enjoy photography, astronomy, and coin collecting as hobbies. Family hikes and outdoor play are part of our routine, we try to instill an active lifestyle in our boys as I do with your children and hope I can be an inspiration to them. It's not about being a great athlete but staying healthy and active in a variety of ways and being appreciative of your abilities no matter what they are.
Some of my athletic accomplishments include 13 marathons (Boston qualifier in 2012 & 2017); about 30 triathlons including Ironman Lake Placid in 2004, 2006, and 2009; the Mt. Washington road running race and bicycle race; a Massachusetts to Virginia bicycle ride; the annual Massachusetts ALS charity bicycle ride; my first ultra marathon in 2016, a 50 mile race in upstate NY around Lake Canandaigua to celebrate my 50th birthday; and three Pan-Mass Challenge bicycle rides in 2019, 2020, and 2021. My reason is simple for the need to have these goals - I do it for the mental, physical, and spiritual challenge.
