The 2026 Digital Wellbeing Workshops were based on the theme selected by 2025-2026 Youth Advisory Board, Self-Image & AI. They consisted of two dynamic sessions: a one-day in-person workshop in June and a one-week virtual workshop in July. Both sessions were free and open to rising 6th-10th grade girls and their allies, fostering a supportive space to explore different self-image domains, AI & social media literacy, and the power of chatbot system prompting for the cultivation of AI agency.
Participants engaged in small group activities with Wellesley College facilitators, building skills in respectful online behavior, identifying and raising awareness of social issues, and co-designing chatbot system prompts for healthier digital communities. A unique component of our virtual workshop this year was that one small group was made of Spanish-speakers, and their activities were conducted in Spanish.
This program was generously funded by the Metrowest Women’s Fund, the Metrowest Health Foundation, the Wellesley Centers for Women, the Wellesley College Social Science Summer Research Program, and an anonymous donor.
Throughout our workshops, the participants are asked to fill out reflections. These are some of the quotes and takeaways that the participants wanted to share with us!
