Hello Room Parents:

Thank you for volunteering your time as a Room Parent! You provide an invaluable service to the school. Your teacher and students greatly appreciate your support.

A summary of the duties of Room parent for their classroom is noted below for your reference.

House Keeping items - September /October

1. Emergency preparedness check:

This will be your first task and PTO requests that this be completed by end of September. Please contact Health and Safety Coordinator for any questions on how to order supply for class.

2.Student's emergency pack:

Students bring the Emergency packs in. The Room Parents have to tally and make sure all the students have brought them in. If not, send a reminder to the parent.

3.Collect Room parent email roaster (Work with class teacher)

4. Collect funds for class room celebration (~$20 if 30 kids ,$25 for 25 kids)

General Guidelines:

  • Create and distribute class roster
  • Plan, participate, coordinate and communicate classroom parties and events : Classroom Celebrations
  • Support school events throughout the year by participating/communicating event details and soliciting volunteers when needed
  • Collect funds for class room celebration and use that for all class room celebration activities
  • Support / co-ordinate multi-cultural board to organize school level events/competition
  • Support/coordinate annual carnival day
  • Collaborate with parents in taking pictures for year around class room celebration(s) (Shutterfly or google photo's are good options)This will be used for creating the class room yearbook page by the room parent or class room yearbook volunteer
  • Lead teacher's appreciation week task with the help from other class parent coordinators

Please note : School has a strict food policy. Please check with your class teacher before planning food for any class room celebration.

If a family wishes to have their personal information kept private, though, please respect their wishes and don't include any other personal information besides their child's name.
