2nd Grade Expectations & Summer Homework

-Expectations (what do you expect students to have mastered by the time they enter in)

• Phonetic alphabet (letter - sound recognition)

• Write complete sentences with proper capitalization and punctuation

• Read and write cvc  words, words with blends, digraphs, vowel teams

• Math fluency facts 1-20 addition and subtraction (addition & subtraction)

• Skip count by 2s, 5s, and 10s

-Suggested Summer Homework  

• Practice addition & subtraction math facts from 1-20

• Write in a summer journal regularly (writing prompt responses, daily recaps, story sentences, etc.)

• Read every night for 20 minutes
