The LST supports students by helping them to develop reading and writing skills; providing direct instruction to students on an individual or small group or large group basis; giving students the confidence to independently approach and be successful on any given task; and guiding students through specific literacy tasks on the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT).

Child and Youth Worker, CYW
CYW services meet the needs of the students through direct intervention, guidance and supportive strategies. Services may include coping strategies, social and emotional well-being, skill-building and advocating for services and/or resources. The referral is made by the classroom teacher or other staff, parents or guardians or students seeking support through the Guidance Department.

Registered Social Worker, Psychotherapist
A psychotherapist is a mental health professional providing psychotherapy and counselling services to students. They address emotional, behavioural, and psychological issues that may impact a student's well-being and academic performance, collaborating with educators and parents to support their overall mental health. Their role is to help foster a mentally-healthy school environment.
