Web Summit Vancouver is all about meaningful connections and building meaningful communities. We run the world’s largest technology events, connecting people and ideas that change the world.
Web Summit events – Web Summit in Lisbon, Web Summit Rio in South America, Web Summit Vancouver (formerly Collision in Toronto) in North America, RISE in Asia, and Web Summit Qatar in the Middle East – have gathered half a million people since Web Summit’s beginnings as a 150-person conference in Dublin in 2009.
In the words of KPMG, "In three days, we made new contacts and collected solid leads that convert into valuable business relationships."
Whether you’re on or off stage, Web Summit Vancouver provides plenty of opportunities to network and forge meaningful connections. Discover how we help you make that happen below...
I want to connect with fellow speakers and attendees at Web Summit Vancouver. What’s the best way to do this?
The Web Summit Vancouver attendee hub and app let you connect with attendees, set up meetings and discover a selection of curated and intimate community gatherings called ‘Meetups’.
How do I schedule meetings on the attendee hub?
Log in to the Web Summit Vancouver attendee hub with your email address and complete your profile.
Search and filter attendees/companies on the Discover tab by industry, country and much more.
Click on the attendee or company you wish to meet and give a short intro or description about why you want to connect.
Hit the show interest button, and your request is sent!
Requestees will receive an email letting them know they have a meeting request. Once they accept, we’ll work our magic and suggest a time for you both to meet which you can accept or reject through the Attendee hub.
Notes:
Once the requestee accepts the meeting and you both approve the allocated timeslot, it will be added to your personal schedule in the weeks leading up to the event, which you can see through the Web Summit Vancouver mobile app
Meetings are 20 minutes long
Attendees can only request meetings with you once you’ve completed your profile
Check the ‘Requests’ tab to see if anyone has requested meetings with you
If the meeting timeslot allocated to you doesn’t suit, you can reject the suggested timeslot through the attendee hub and a new one will be assigned to you
If you are meeting with another speaker, you can arrange to meet in our Speaker Lounge or in one of our speaker meeting rooms at the event, which are available on a first come first served basis.
'Meetups' are a chance to meet new people and make new connections in informal settings during Web Summit Vancouver – day and night. We’ll make sure you’re invited to some that we think you’ll enjoy.
You'll find the Meetups you're invited to on the Web Summit Vancouver app home screen. We'll take the lead and invite you to those we think you'll enjoy, based on where you're from, your interests, your industry, and your community – basically, whatever you've highlighted about yourself when completing your app profile!
You'll find the complete list of Meetups on the app's main page closer to the event. If there are any Meetups you are not invited to but wish to attend, feel free to show up – if there is space, you can join!
