Students on game announcement day
Pre-season is spent working on the existing robot so incoming team members can get familiar with it. We also go to Ruckus at Nazareth University, to give them a small taste of what a competition is like.
Students leran about the game, start coming up with ideas for a robot that can accomplish the goal. Computer Aided Design, prototyping, working together to figure out if their ideas will actually work...
And then they start building! It's all hands on deck , meeting at least 3 times a week.
Students work on building the robot, mentors work on building components of the game floor. And parents bring in food to feed them all with the goal of having the robot built and operational by the first competition at RIT in March.
Students creating prototypes, working to understand kit pieces, working on CAD

What a weekend for SparX Team 1126!
This One Webster squad just wrapped up an incredible couple of days competing at the FIRST® Finger Lakes Regional at RIT. Don't let the name fool you—they went head-to-head with 56 amazing teams from as far away as Ohio, Canada, Hawaii and even Chinese Taipei!
We're proud to announce that SparX finished ranked 14th overall with a strong 7-3-0 record and a high score of 358 points! Their intake and shooter systems were dialing it in and they even helped one of their alliances secure a huge win in the semi-finals.
A massive thank you to the team's mentors, alliance partners, sponsors, and everyone who came out to support SparX.
