About Our Program

At Earthbound, we focus on type, structure, and stable temperment. Every breeding is intentional guided by the AKC standard and a deep respect for the Scottish Terrier's history and purpose.

We are proud members and leaders in the San Francisco Bay Scottish Terrier Club, and our program reflects years of dedication to breed preservation and responsible ownership.

Health and Genetic Testing

All our dogs are fully tested before breeding after they turn 2 years of age following the guidelines set forth by the OFA. We also perform structural evaluations and temperment testing before any scottie is considered for our breeding program. 

 Accomplishments

Our dogs have achieved titles in:

    •    AKC Conformation (Champions & Grand Champions)

    •    AKC Earthdog

    •    Fast CAT

    •    Grooming Competitions 

We don’t just breed beautiful Scotties—we prove them in multiple venues to ensure they are well-rounded, functional, and true to the breed.

Puppy Raising Philosophy

Our puppies are raised in-home, underfoot, and surrounded by everyday life. We focus on early enrichment and desensitization to prepare them for confident, curious futures.

Each Earthbound puppy is introduced to:

    •    Dogs of all sizes and breeds

    •    Cats

    •    Children

    •    Routine grooming (bathing, drying, nail trims, clippers, and brushing)

    •    Travel experiences (car rides, crates, playpens)

    •    New surfaces, sounds, and problem-solving tasks

We incorporate elements from Puppy Culture, ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation), and early grooming table work to build trust and confidence from the very beginning.

Grooming From Day One

As internationally recognized groomers and educators, we believe that a well-groomed Scottie is not just a tradition—it’s a bond. Our puppies are introduced to:

    •    Standing on grooming tables

    •    Clipper and dryer noise

    •    Regular baths and hand-stripping techniques

    •    Early trimming for show or salon-style presentation

Whether your Earthbound Scottie is headed to the show ring or your couch, they’ll leave us well-prepared for lifelong grooming.
