Bio: Hanaa Wong Abdullah

Hanaa Wong Abdullah is an entrepreneur, a speaker, trainer, activist, a mother of two young adults, a mentor to other women and a strong advocate for women empowerment.

Hanaa has co-owned and managed several companies from the time she lived in Kuala Lumpur in the 90s and has learned many good and precious experiences in her entrepreneurship journey. Most recently, she founded a training company at home in Sabah and now co-manages it with her husband of 27 years.

Hanaa has been active in community work and several NGOs over the last 15 years, including a special children’s school in Ampang, SWEPA (Sabah Women Entrepreneurs & Professionals Association), Befrienders, Toastmasters International and Soroptimist International. Hanaa has enjoyed a variety of roles in the many NGOs from Secretary to President, and in Toastmasters International from VP to Area Governor then Division Governor.

In 2012, Hanaa was selected by the US Embassy in Malaysia to participate in the International Visitors Leadership Program (IVLP) and represented Malaysia as one of 19 women from 19 countries.

In 2013, Hanaa was nominated by the Chief Minister of Sabah to be a Council Member in the Women’s Advisory Council (Majlis Penasihat Wanita Sabah). She served two full terms in MPWS, first as the Deputy Chairperson in the Economy Committee and then as Chairman in the Women & Media Committee.

Hanaa is frequently invited to speak and train at corporate, educational and motivational programs both in Malaysia and in Brunei Darussalam. She is most passionate about Personal Empowerment, Gender Parity, Inclusive Leadership and Positive Psychology; and enjoys sharing on these topics with groups.
