Bio: Audrey Koh-Wiles

Audrey Koh Sui Ean, just ‘Audrey’ to friends and family and ‘Madam’ to most, is a vibrant and dynamic individual who has come a long way but still has more to see and do. Having graduated from the University of Exeter, UK in Teaching English as a Second Language (TESL) with Honours in 2001, she now has 16 years as an English teacher under her belt. Her passion lies not just in teaching this intricate subject, but as an examiner and a motivational and content-based speaker for teachers and students all over Malaysia. She runs workshops and seminars for all levels including English for UPSR, PT3, SPM 111/9 and MUET. Audrey now has a successful blog with more than 4 million hits. You can have a peek at http://muetmyway.blogspot.com and she has also recently started online mentoring.

Audrey is a keen Rotarian, having been on the board of Rotary Club of Likas Bay and served as the Vocational Chair in 2015/16 and awarded Best Rotarian that term. She spearheaded her first Business Pitching competition for the earthquake hit areas of Kundasang, Ranau and Kota Belud in 2015 which won then Silver award for Best Vocational Project at the Rotary International District Conference in Chiang Mai, 2016. The 2nd instalment of this Rotary Biz Grant in 2016 was her best achievement so far when Minister of Tourism, Datuk Seri Panglima Masidi Manjun matched her 25k grant with another 25k award money for the Top 10 Biz Pitchers. Audrey hopes to make this pitching concept an annual event so that the funds reach new and fresh entrepreneurs in the making, boosting the local economy and moulding a proactive and industrious new generation. Additionally, she is now branching out on her own to organise boutique charity events such as Shoebox Charities, Xmas Cheer parties and the recent Don Bosco Movie Fun Day. Small gestures, big hearts is a saying she clearly goes by. She plans to create more events to connect people through her group, Sharity of Hope.

Audrey has vast experience as a trainer and adjudicator of English debates, public speaking, elocution contests, drama as well as choral speaking and has served as one of the coaches for the Google Startup Weekend 2016. She has also been on the panel of judges for the Rotary Club of KK's International Understanding Day that showcases students performing dances and modelling costumes of selected countries from all over the world. In addition, she was the master of ceremony for a number of occasions including Rotary events, Jesselton Philharmonic Orchestra and Sabah Invention and Design Exhibition (SINDEX).
