Use your science and music skills to create a song using water glasses!

The King of France (TK & Kindergarten)

March around the room/your house to the steady beat as you listen/say the chant.
Turn it into a “train” movement activity and take turns with someone in your house being the leader; follow them around to the chant.
Use an instrument or find a virtual instrument such as a piano or xylophone to play going up (higher) and down (lower).
Download and create your own King, Queen, Prince or Princess Crown! Dress up using fancy clothes, a towel/scarf for a cape and your decorated paper crown and dance to some royal music!
The Cuckoo (TK-1st Grade)
Watch and listen to Mr. Ellul's YouTube video posted below and follow the directions.
Students learn a song "The Cuckoo" and Mr. Ellul invites them to help sing the "cuckoo" part and then they add some movements to go with it!
Who's That? (2nd Grade)
2nd Grade Music Activity using the song "Who's That?" Students will sing and learn the song, find the steady beat, work to figure out the notation of the song and then create a rhythm sequence using the flashcards found below.
This Old Man (TK - 2nd Grade)
Lower Elementary Students will enjoy singing "This Old Man" and playing some instruments to the numbers that go along with the verses.
Junkyard Percussion (3rd - 5th Grade)
I have posted a YouTube Video where I read and discuss the "Junkyard Percussion" however, I am hoping that you will download the presentation that I've given access to so that you can watch the amazing videos! YouTube will not allow me to record the videos again as they are already posted on YouTube, so I had to "skip over them" when I was recording my presentation.
There are two different types of activities at the end that I encourage you to try as well! If not, just read through and watch the cool performances!
Singing Game: "Closet Key" (1st & 2nd Grades, but anyone could play!)
Students will review this familiar singing game usually played in 1st and 2nd grades, but feel free to play no matter what grade! We will review the song, and talk about what you need to play and how to play. We also discuss dynamics: loud/forte and quiet/piano sounds in music.

I usually do this with 2nd grade, but I welcome EVERYONE to enjoy the story using the video I've posted below!

Rain on the Green Grass Lesson (TK & Kindergarten)
Using the two videos posted below students will learn a chant, add motions, echo rhythmic patterns and talk about the "rhythmic shapes."
Movement: Kabalevsky's 30 Pieces for Children (TK & Kindergarten)
Using videos below, have students dance/move around.
An Old Dance: Use a scarf, towel or tissue paper moving high and low.
Cradle Dance: Relaxing piece, pretend to dance ballet or freeze like a statue.
Galopede Dance (3rd - 5th Grade)
I wish we were together to do this awesome dance! Try your best to watch, learn and perform this dance. Maybe invite siblings, parents, or even try it with some stuffed animals! Use the video to help you learn the dance the basic steps are written here.
A Section - Four steps in/out and trade places, repeat and return to your spots, B Section - Dosido partner and add a two hand turn, C Section - Make a bridge and the top comes down underneath the bridge and everyone slides down for the new "head couple."
Two-Part Duple Meter Pattern Reading (3rd - 5th Grade)
3rd - 5th grade students will learn about two-part music reading. We will go over musical symbols and notation then read both parts. Finally, I challenge you to say, play, or clap one pattern while I clap the other pattern.

Students use leftover Easter eggs and a variety of objects/ingredients to discover different sounds as an experiment.
