Hello, my name is Alex Ellul and I am honored to be the Elementary Music Teacher and Director of Choral Music at Webberville Community Schools. I earned my undergraduate degree in Vocal Music Education from Eastern Michigan University in 2016. This is my 5th year teaching K-12 in the public school setting, but I have been teaching music in a variety of ways since I was in high school. I have had experience teaching private voice and piano lessons for over five years, directed two children's choirs, and I also serve local parishes in a variety of ways through music ministry.
I live in Fowlerville with my wife, Sarah who is a professional clarinetist, Woodwind Repair Technician and Store Manager for Meridian Winds in Okemos. We have a daughter, Abigail, who was born in April 2020. She is very musical and loves to play with blocks, read books and go for walks outside. We also have an adorable orange cat named Pumpkin. In my free time I enjoy spending time with friends and family. I love making music, traveling, cooking, baking, and being outside.
As a music educator I am dedicated to sharing with my students that everyone has the ability and privilege to sing. I strive to enhance their growth as individuals in our modern society by providing a safe and engaging classroom where they can express themselves through the music we sing. My students will work together as an ensemble, create friendships, expand on their academic skills, and articulate expressive meanings to the text. I believe that the music we create will change the lives of my students and greatly impact them and our audiences.
