Task Description
Students learned how to write Gothic-style calligraphy in this topic. They had to choose a sentence related to the school theme of the year, ‘Connectedness’. It took a lot of practice and patience for students to get used to the calligraphy pen. For the background, students were free to design and paint whatever they wanted.

Student's Reflection
In making this artwork, I learned that I needed to stay calm and be patient, otherwise the words would be crooked. What I like about this artwork is that it is full of colour and everything connects together. To come up with the idea, I took a reference from the internet and combined that with my own inspiration.
Teacher's Comment
Bernice did a very good job in writing in the Gothic style. In this style, the letters are upright, and the strokes are smooth and straight. The distance between words and letters in this work were good. She was creative enough to make the texture of the background, and it highlighted the sentence well.
