Task Description
In this topic, students learnt about one of the simple machines - pulleys. They learnt to identify the two main types of pulley (fixed and movable), and applied the concepts learnt to distinguish different pulley systems or tools in daily life. Besides that, students also learnt to determine the functionality of different parts of a pulley system, whether it be saving or re-directing the force.

Student's Reflection
I learnt how to build a fixed pulley system and a movable pulley system. I also learnt what a counterweight is and how to use it. Pulleys are very useful in daily life because they can lift up many things that are too heavy to lift by hand.
I enjoyed building the pulley system because I felt so happy once I had finished building it and knowing it works correctly.
What I would like to know is, who invented the pulley? And what is the heaviest object ever to be lifted up by a pulley?
