Task Description
Animal Print is a print-making artwork. Students learn to partition different parts of an animal and draw it in detail. They learn the skills of print-making which requires them to darker colours on the back page. The animal can then be printed on a new page when students trace the whole draft again.

Student's Reflection
This art work is about something being missing that you need to find. You must design the character, before hiding it in a crowd of other characters. This makes it quite challenging
I got the inspiration for this drawing from cute parrots. I love parrots because they are smart and cute, so I decided to draw parrots doing silly things. I also got the background idea from a documentary about animals of The Amazon. The photo of the phoenix, I thought, would be great in black and white because maybe some adventurers found this bird a very long time ago, and perhaps some adventurers of today were trying to find it again.
I thought it was a good idea to hide the phoenix near the sun because the phoenix is associated with fire. I had trouble with the colouring, but I figured it out. I learned to always take inspiration from others to make a piece of work better.
Teacher's Comment
Joyance is very talented in art. She has very good sense of colour and composition. I love her character designs and soft tones in this artwork. It is a smart idea to make the sign black and white as audiences are supposed to look for that character in the picture.
