Task Description
In this task, students were asked to apply their knowledge of the eight directions to create a map and set questions for other students to solve. This task enabled students to show their understanding of the concept of direction in a fun way. They could create a map of a treasure hunt, facilities in the neighbourhood, a farmland or a theme park. At the same time, they learned how to read and draw maps.

Student's Reflection
I needed to apply my previous knowledge of ‘four directions’ that I learned in P.2 and the ‘eight directions’ in P.5 to complete this map. I was satisfied because I was able to create my own map and planned the route accurately. I would like to create another map for Easter-egg hunting.
Teacher's Comment
Bethany has created a treasure-hunt map. We could see that ‘North’ on the map is pointing to the top left hand corner making her design more difficult to draw. I really appreciated her hard work and the drawing on the map. Apart from creating the map, Bethany was capable of setting questions related to it. Excellent work!
