課業簡介
是次課堂目的是希望學生學會以同理心嘗試代入老人家的角度去感受,切身處地地從別人的角度思考,並體諒老人家遇到的困難。在課堂當中,學生透過遊戲感受到長者身體上的限制。有的要在腳跟上綁上紙箱以代表腳步沉重的長者; 有的要用已過膠的紙包裹膝蓋以感受關節不再靈活的長者。遊戲後,同學都表示真的能親身經歷作為長者的不便,對他們的理解增加了。
這個課業是課堂的延伸,除了分享身邊長者的限制外,更希望同學運用同理心,為長者設計工具。

My grandma is old now. She encounters quite a lot of difficulties in her daily life. I notice she has some problems with her hands, especially when she holds heavy things, like water bottle or shopping bags. Her hands will shake very often. I want to make a robot for my grandma, because it can take care of my grandma and help her do her housework. This robot will stay with my grandma no matter where my grandma goes. It can do everything for my grandma.

You are very observant. You are right! Elderly may have a lot of barriers in their daily lives. Luckily you observe that your grandma has difficulty to carry heavy things. In addition, you are so creative to think of making her a robot. You are such a caring and thoughtful granddaughter. I really hope that this robot may help not only your grandma, but other elderly in the world.
