Task Description
In Language Arts class, Benny is reading the classic children’s book, ‘The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe’. The story is about four children who accidentally step into a magical word and help the true and good leader, Aslan, to save Narnia.
In this class, we read about how Aslan loves Edmund, not because of what he can do for him, nor what he has done in the past, but he is willing to die for Edmund simply because of who he is. The class explored and discussed this kind of love – unconditional love.
This task is a consolidation of what was discussed in class. They were to find evidence from the story to give more details of what unconditional love is.

Unconditional Love
Unconditional love means giving without expecting reward. When we are facing a difficult time, people that love us unconditionally will come to help, comfort and support us. When we do something wrong, they forgive us and teach us the right way. Family’s love is unconditional. Dad and mum love me and take care of me all the time. I will hug and kiss my mom and hug my dad every day. I am thankful for their love and care.
Student's Reflection
I have learned what ‘unconditional love’ is in this class, and I learned my family loves me unconditionally. I have also realized that our teachers’ love is unconditional too because they teach us patiently and keep no records of wrong.
If I were to do this task again, I would find some songs about unconditional love and encourage people not to give up, even if the challenges are tough, when they have to love. There will always be people like your family, friends and teachers to walk alongside you.
Teacher's Comment
Unconditional love is not an easy concept to grasp. However, Benny did such an amazing job at explaining it in his own words! I am sure that this class is only a catalyst to help him identify what unconditional love is. The main reason he was able to produce such good work is because of the love and care from his family and teachers. Well done Benny, be sure to pay this love forward!
