Task Description
Math journal is for students to share about daily-life examples and knowledge related to what they learnt in mathematics class. In this topic, students learnt about the addition, subtraction and multiplication of decimals. They are encouraged to think of daily-life examples that are related to addition, subtraction and multiplication of decimals and how they could apply the skills they learnt in this topic. Through connecting Mathematics with our daily life, students can better understand the importance of the skills that they are learning.

Student's Reflection
I learnt addition, subtraction and multiplication of decimals in this topic. It also motivated me to learn division of decimals. A lot of things contribute to decimals, and more contain addition, subtraction and multiplication. For example, you might see price tags with cents, and you may need to calculate the cost of things you want to buy. In this topic, I most enjoyed the part where I calculated questions that involved mixed operation of decimal calculations.
It also taught me how to get rid of brackets, which seems to be very interesting. I would like to learn more about calculations with repeating decimals in the future.
Teacher's Comment
Ranok showed great effort in his work. He did not just apply what he learned in a simple daily-life example. He came up with a scenario which was about the difficult life of an old lady and decided to donate money to help her. Ranok showed that he fully understood the topic by applying calculations which involved addition and multiplication of decimals in his work. He also provided two options, and showed that the old lady could only buy ingredients by comparing the cost of each option and the amount of money she had. Ranok’s work did not just show his understanding on the topic, but he further conveyed the message of helping other people around us to change others’ lives. Well done, Ranok!
