Task Description
We asked the students of P4 to discuss some actions related to the core value of ‘Respect’ in the P.E. lesson. We separated the students into seven groups and asked them to discuss the positive outcome, or negative consequence, for being respectful or disrespectful, in their own words and drawings. We asked students to recall a memory or experience in the past which relates to respect. After that, they had to share their own cases with others and have a discussion about what respect is. I was glad to see that students realized the importance of this value and how having respectful actions helps you build close friendships and increases leadership potential.

Student's Reflection
I learned that we have to respect and appreciate others when playing games. We should not scold, blame or argue with our coach, teammates or referee. These are not respectful actions. Respect is a very important core value to us in the P.E. lesson, and also in daily life.
Teacher's Comment
They have a good understanding of the importance of Respect in the P.E. lesson. They gave some realistic and easy actions to demonstrate the core value of ‘Respect’. Based on their work, I can see they do not only respect others, but also respect themselves. When they write a comment like, “Never hurt people’s feelings” it shows them to be sympathetic people. I wish their views on Respect could spread from them to influence more people in the world.
