Task Description
In this chapter, I taught “Performance direction”, which involved dynamics, tempo and expression markings. We did a group discussion and aimed to design different performance directions to the song, “My family”. They performed their own version of this song finally. The rest of the students were free to give some comments for peer improvement.

Student's Reflection
We worked hard at this piece, but it was a bit hard to do it quickly in music class. I felt worried about it, but we liked it. We enjoyed it a lot because we discussed a lot of things happily. If we were teaching this, we would give six points to this work. I think our cooperation was not very good, so we are trying to improve on that.
Teacher's Comment
Designing the performance directions of a song was a bit difficult for students in few lessons, but everyone paid attention to the details of the group assignment and did a great job.
This group set the mood of the song as “sad”. They put related performance markings on the score which made the song into the mood. They performed their composition with appropriate voice according to their markings. I could see good team work inside.
