Task Description
In this Language Arts class, Amber read the classic children’s story, “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe”. The story is about a group of four siblings saving a magical land called Narnia. During class, we discussed how Lucy’s siblings accused her of lying, and how upset it made her feel when her brother, Edmund, was the actual one who lied. We talked about the importance of integrity and the effects lying can have on others.
This task is an extension to the discussion in class about the topic of ‘Integrity.’ We invited students to recognize and appreciate people in their lives who behave with integrity.

An Honest Person in My Life
The most honest person I know is my little sister Ashley. I think she is sincere because she never lies to me. She always tells the truth, even if it means she will get punished. She only lies if the truth might hurt somebody’s feelings.
For example, she accidentally broke my mom’s favorite cup when she was playing volleyball in the living room. Even though she knew she would get punished, she still told our mum the truth.
These are some of the reasons why I believe my little sister Ashley is the most honest person in my life.
Student's Reflection
I learned the value of Honesty (Integrity) in this story. Lucy’s siblings finally believed her, and because of Lucy’s honesty, they were able to save Narnia from the White Witch.
I am proud of this work for the effort and time I put in. I asked for some opinions from my friends and family about whether they agreed with my choice of the most honest person I know. I learned Perseverance during this task because, even though it was hard, I didn’t give up. If I got a chance to do this work again, I would add more examples of why my sister is the most honest person in my life.
Teacher's Comment
Amber showed her understanding of the core value of Integrity by relating it to her personal life. She used various examples to explain how her sister is the most honest person she knows. When you appreciate something, you want to treasure it. I am sure Amber will continue to uphold this value as she is surrounded by integrity. She has also put in a lot of effort presenting this piece of homework to the class. Well done! Excellent work, Amber.
