Task Description
Graffiti is writing and drawing made on a wall within public view. Graffiti often has simply written words. Students were able to understand the styles and context of graffiti, including sharp outlines, overlapping words and shadow drawing. They reformed the shapes of the letters and drew in a cool graffiti style. Students learned to style their name with shapes, values, spaces and colours, which are the techniques and characteristics we learn from graffiti.

Student's Reflection
From the graffiti drawing, I learned to design my drawing based on a theme. I like the ocean very much, so I mainly used blue to present the water. You could also see the water drops around my name. I made use of different kinds of blue to grow the swell, and the key part I liked most was the crown on top of the “A”. I think this was a new challenge for me.
Teacher's Comment
Kayson selected a monochromatic colour scheme for his graffiti drawing. The shape of “KAYSON” is like swollen balloons, which matches his theme of water drops. The bold letters are overlapped, which amplifies the graffiti name. This creates a nice contrast between the letters and the other spaces. Kayson likes the crown on the letter "A”. It adorns the whole drawing with bright yellow, which lights up the blue tone.
