Task Description
Singing: My Grandfather’s Clock
The task that students had to do was to sing a song in 2-part and accompanied by
percussion instruments. They were to perform as an ensemble. Students were not only
to concentrate on their own part, but also have an awareness of the other members
with regard to tempo and pitch. Otherwise, the music would not sound fluent.
Student's work
4C (11) Tyler Ho
4C (18) Hayden Leung
4C (21) Urania Mak
Student's Reflection
4C Tyler Ho (11)
I think this was really wonderful! I thought it was easy at the beginning, but finally, it
was more difficult. We needed to practice a few times to sing it well, but it was fun.
4C Hayden Leung (18)
I was so scared when I had to come out to perform. Finally, I found out that it was very
good fun. I did the performance with two classmates. I did the percussion part and they
sang the song. Although we did very well, we still have a lot of things to improve upon.
4C Urania Mak (21)
I think we did not do very well at singing the song, because sometimes we sang it wrong.
I think the things we need to improve on are our singing skills and team spirit. I believe if
we work hard we can do it better.
Teacher's Comment
They sang the main melody in correct pitch and rhythm. However, when they divided into 3 parts to perform, sometimes we could not hear the singing of Tyler. Also, Urania’s “tick-tock “was not so stable. The pulse for the percussion part was very stable. I know that they tried their best -well done!
