Task Description
Cubism is an early 20th century art movement which was a new approach to representing reality in art at that time. Pablo Picasso was a co-founder of cubism. Students in our class learned from the style of Picasso and drew portraits. They paired up with their classmates and made quick sketches of each other in the Cubist style. The task was to capture faces in different perspectives and keep the drawings simple.

Student's Reflection
Cubism drawing was a lot of fun; it really stirred my imagination. I learned to think out of the box when I designed this artwork. It was fun that I did not need to draw in a regular style and could create my fantasy. Lastly, I want to thank my teacher who taught me to do this kind of artwork.
Teacher's Comment
Beatrice showed her understanding of cubist drawing. We can see her portrait is created with multiple viewpoints and with different perspectives. Eyes and noses are simplified with some geometric shapes. Also, Beatrice coloured the picture with many bright colours and even created some patterns and decorative shapes to enrich the visual effect of the drawing. This shows something of her personality too!
