Task Description
After the students had completed the topic, ‘Area and Perimeter’, they were given the statement, “If the perimeter of a rectangle is longer, the area must be larger.” They needed to justify the statement by giving reasons with examples. Students drew different sizes of rectangles, found the perimeters and areas of the rectangles, compared the results, and concluded by supporting their answers.

Student's Reflection
It was a changeling piece of work. First, I needed to draw some rectangles, then compare the perimeters and areas to check if the statement was correct. Next, I tried to explain the reason in words, which was not easy for me to do. Nevertheless, I enjoyed this work because it was different from other Math homework.
Teacher's Comment
Osric presented a good piece of work to show his understanding of perimeters and areas. He could give examples to support his answer. It was well explained and well organized. He has done the work by himself, without any help from the teacher. It showed his excellent understanding in these two topics. Fantastic work!
