Task Description
Eric Carle’s animal
Students have been learning about Eric Carle. He was a writer and illustrator of children's books. His most famous picture book is called "The Very Hungry Caterpillar."
Firstly, students had to paint on paper and make patterns or prints to create texture on top of it. Then, they learned how to use the technique of making a collage. Collages are pictures with pieces of paper glued together to form an image.

Student's Reflection
Dragons have appeared in many stories and games. They are furious and hungry, so I picked the colour red and decided to keep the dragon's mouth open. It is a powerful creature, and it is the leader of the pack. Making this piece of art was difficult as I had to put in a lot of effort to cut and paste small pieces of paper together to create this image.
Teacher's Comment
Gillian explored various painting techniques and created some textural effects. She spent a lot of time designing and building the dragon, using the methods of Eric Carle. She showed perseverance in doing this artwork. Also, she demonstrated excellent cutting and gluing skills in this task. Well done!
