Task Description
Teaching the recorder through Zoom was a big challenge for both teachers and students this year -especially P.3 students, who were new to learning the instrument. I spent a lot of time adjusting the students’ posture of playing through a video-taking assignment. In this task, students were asked to take a video of themselves playing a song which involved five notes they had learned. Students should play the song smoothly with correct articulation and posture.
Student's work
3E (31) Katie Yau
Student's Reflection
I have problems with the recorder’s D note because it makes too much sound and is unpredictable. I will practise a lot every day to get better results.
Teacher's Comment
Katie tried her best on her recorder performance, but I believe she can do it much better if she has more time to practise. Katie can focus on practicing the rhythm of the song, which is a common difficulty for all P3 students. They should tackle it with the dotted rhythm which gives it an uneven beat.
