Task Description
Fruit Drawing - Sunbathing Fruit
After a study of the artist Paul Cezanne, who invented a new method of painting (re-creating the world through strokes of colour), the students created sketches for the oil pastel still life drawing. The students were able to know the forms in our still life objects and how to create highlights, middle values and shadows in colour.

Student's Reflection
I took my painting inspiration from things I have seen before: the checker print was inspired by a placemat at home, it made the fruits look delicious and fresh. The background and windmill were inspired by the Dutch countryside. The sunset is a nicely coloured light source to shine on the fruits.
Teacher's Comment
Nathan could draw the form of the fruit and he was able to create highlights, middle values and shadows in colour. He also drew a nice background with the use of a warm colour tone that could give us a comfortable feeling. Well done and keep it up!
