Task Description
Fruit Drawing - Sunbathing Fruit
After a study of the artist Paul Cezanne, who invented a new method of painting (re-creating the world through strokes of colour), the students created sketches for the oil pastel still life drawing. The students were able to know the forms in our still life objects and how to create highlights, middle values and shadows in colour.

Student's Reflection
The theme of this painting to depict fruits on a picnic table in the park under a sunny sky ready to be eaten. I learned that the shadows and brightness of the fruits have to make sense relative to where the sunlight is coming from. My favourite part of this painting is the apple that’s about to fall off the table because I think that is unique and funny.
Teacher's Comment
Nashua could draw the form of the fruit and he was able to create highlights, middle values and shadows in colour. He simply used gradual blue as the background with the yellow sunlight. I did like the falling apple, it made your artwork look interesting! Nice work!
