After a study of the artist Paul Cezanne, who invented a new method of painting (re-creating the world through strokes of colour), the students created sketches for the oil pastel still life drawing. The students were able to know the forms in our still life objects and how to create highlights, middle values and shadows in colour.

Hazel’s fruit drawing is balanced has a very good composition. Also, the shapes and colour gradation of the fruits are nice and smooth. Hazel did the shadowing very well and, it shows that she has a good understanding of light and value.
