Task Description
We asked students of 3A to draw an inspirational poster encouraging a friend, who is poor like Charlie, to not give up on his dream.
This task followed on from reading about the main character “Charlie and the Chocolate Factory”, who lives with a big family in abject poverty.
We asked the students to reflect on his situation, and focus on the core value of Commitment, and how he could still be happy and optimistic in his situation.
Student's work
3A (19) Zita Lee
Student's Reflection
In this class, I have learned to encourage, care for and respect others. I like that the drawing I did is very encouraging and colourful. If I could do it again I would try to make it more colourful and energetic, so that I could encourage my friend not to give up and keep going. I learned the values of care and respect from the task, and that these values make it easier to encourage myself and others.
Teacher's Comment
I think Zita really captured the theme of the assignment well in her poster by writing the core value of Perseverance in three different ways, and showing lots of encouraging drawings –like the strong arm and the finger pointing up. It is also a colourful and positive piece of work that reflects out P3 core value of Commitment.
