Task Description
Warm and Cool Colour Tree
In In this artwork, the students explored warm and cool colours. Warm colours are shades that make us feel warmed up, all shades and hues of red, yellow and orange. Cool colours make us feel fresh and energized, all shades and hues of blue, purple and green.
The students had to draw a grid that created a great opportunity to practice using rulers first. Then they drew a tree with branches. Lastly, they had to apply warm and cool colours in the correct places.

Student's Reflection
This painting shows you a warm and cool colour contrast. I used warm colors for my music tree-like red, orange and yellow. I used cool colors for the background, like blue, green and purple. Can you find the bird house? It is in the middle of the tree. Do you see some notes on the branches? I imagined that the birds were singing in the bird house and music surrounded the tree. They were very happy and having fun.
Teacher's Comment
Hailey had shown a high level of understanding by showcasing the difference between warm and cool colours. The artwork was very neat and tidy. It showed that Hailey had good colouring skills. She drew some creative and nice patterns on the tree. Well done!
