During the science lesson the students were presented with a plastic box containing a number of grasshoppers. The aim of the activity was for the students to observe, identify, and draw the characteristics of a grasshopper. They would then use their findings to understand which of the key characteristics were specific to classifying them as insects.

Olive demonstrated great observation skills when carrying out the activity. She examined the grasshoppers very closely and was able to identify the characteristics of the grasshoppers by recording her drawing in her science booklet. Olive showed how she was able to work effectively with her classmates throughout the lesson, and was able to share her findings with her classmates.
