Task Description
In this unit, Jody and the class read about the movements of animals. In class, we discussed different movements of animals and how they use their body parts to move. The class was inspired to think about what their favourite animals look like, and the many different ways they move.
This task is an extension of the discussion we had during class. Jody and her classmates were asked to share and write about their favourite animal. By doing so, students were guided to discover animal movements.
Student's work
1E(09) Jody Ip
This is a small and cute hamster. It has claws and a pair of short ears. It also has sharp teeth to eat nuts. It can hide its food in its cheeks. It can take a bath by itself. It uses its short little legs to run very fast in the cage or on the ground.
Student's Reflection
I like this piece of work because it is interesting for me to share my hamster with my classmates and teacher. My classmates noticed my piece because they think my hamster is cute, and they want to know more about the habits of the hamster. If I had a chance to do this writing over again, I would write more about the temperament of the hamster.
Teacher's Comment
Jody showed her passion for writing about her favourite animal in this task. She described it in detail. She also put a lot of effort into her work and demonstrated the value of perseverance. Well done, Jody!
