Task Description
“Flowers in a Vase” is a skillful topic that lets students practice cutting skills. Students learn to cut out a symmetrical vase and cut the coloured pieces of cardboard into different shapes and make different species of flowers. They are able to make at least two layers for each of the flowers and overlap them one by one.
Cardboard cutting is not easy for lower level students. Our hope was that students would show their perseverance by taking up this challenge.

Student's Reflection
Miss Shiu taught me to fold a paper in half before cutting, it became symmetrical and made my vase look like a UFO. When I was cutting the c-shape yellow flower, I had to twist my hand and turn round to make a circle. It was very difficult, but I was having fun!
