What worked?
Changing a few of the photos into black and white to emphasise the shadow
The time of day
What didn't work?
Finding different patterns from shadows
How could I improve?
Learn how to edit better
Change the time of day when I shoot
What am I going to do next time to extend my idea?
Try reflections and symmetry
Overall
This shoot I used Paul Strand as my artist model inspiration. In this shoot I focused on abstract shadows. I decided to edit some of my photos into black and white, this was to emphasise the shadows. I felt that the time of day that I photographed could of been better as some of my photos didn't capture the sky. As a way to extend this idea I want to learn to edit my photos better. For my next shoots I want to look more into the artist model Lewis Baltz.

What worked?
Using Lewis Baltz as an artist model as the houses have lots of symmetry
Shooting in a house getting built
What didn't work?
Some of the photos didn't turn out right because of the camera setting
Some of the photos didn't end up being straight
How could I improve?
Figuring out camera setting
What am I going to do next time to extend my idea?
Bringing a mini model to the shoot
Using the country club brochure
Overall
In this shoot I explored both Lewis Baltz and Aaron Siskind's work, I wanted to look more into depth on textures and straight on views of buildings. Using these artist models I was able to get a variety of photos including symmetry, lines, textures. Some of my photos weren't straight so for this I edited them online using Camera Raw to straighten them both horizontally and vertically. I want to extend my idea by editing my photos onto some of the Country Club brochures.

- For all images I duplicated them and flipped them either horizontally or vertically, creating a mirrored image and looking at the idea of reflection
What worked?
Shooting twice
Only getting part of buildings in
Shooting looking down streets
What didn't work?
The weather
The camera settings being wrong
How could I improve?
Put on right setting
Try when the weather is better
What am I going to do next time to extend my idea?
Try different angles
Different subject matter
Overall
My artist model for this shoot was Ann Shelton, I like her use of handmade reflection. For this shoot I aimed to take photos of buildings that would look interesting reflected either horizontally or vertically. I ended up shooting this twice at different times as I found the weather was not very reliable. To extend this idea I should try different angles and subject matter, this may change the types of reflection I can capture. For my next shoots I want to try using photoshop to edit my photos.

Photographing multiple buildings

Using straight lines for the colour blocks
What didn't work?
Some of the colour blocks cut off other objects
Very bright colours
How could I improve?
Increase my skills on photoshop
What am I going to do next time to extend my idea?
Put my images into blocks of ice
Put an image over an image
Overall
In this shoot I used Mauren Brodbeck as my artist model this meant I had to use photoshop to "colour block" my images. I found that photographing multiple buildings in one image made it easy to choose things to colour block. This shoot helped me develop my skills with editing. I found the first time I edited my images I used bright colours this didn't go well and didn't link to my other images, so I edited them again using previous photos instead of one bright colour. To extend my ideas further I want to experiment with water and ice.
