First shoot on theme for the year - Theme investigation
Use straight lines to create a clean look
Sharp shadows/lighting
Contrast of different lights
Creating shapes and forms using buildings
What worked?
The time of day was perfect as I was able to create photos with lots of light and shadows
Photographing at the Country Club meant I was able to capture a lot of clean lines and repetition
What didn't work?
The camera in the wrong setting
Some of my photos came out blurry
Too bright for my camera to take photos
How could I improve?
Get used to the camera
Learn what settings the camera should be on for different lighting
What am I going to do next time to extend my idea?
Focus more on shadows that can be created from buildings
Patterns and repetition
Interior of buildings
Overall
I found that this shoot I was experimenting with how to use the camera and the different angles I could use. I was able to capture some photos that explored symmetry and shadows which I want to continue to explore through my other shoots. Some of my photos turned out blurry or too right, this is because I didn't understand what exposure my camera should be on as it was my first time using a camera.

Explore the subject matter more
What am I going to do next time to extend my idea?
Possibly materials used for a building
Floor plans and other objects that can relate to architecture
Overall
This shoot I wanted to use the artist model Uta Barth as inspiration as I was fascinated by the shadows she was able to capture on the interior of buildings. I found I was able to apply this to my photos and used the main club building at the country club as my location. In this shoot I was mainly exploring shadows but was able to capture reflection in the pool room, I like how this extended the lines of the walls. I found that since I was shooting the interior of the building that there was limited objects I could photograph but I used what I had well.

What worked?
Using the props to relate to things about architecture and buildings
Using the natural light outside to get the shadows
What didn't work?
Hard to photograph on the ground sometimes the angle didn't work
It was quite windy
The photos look quite similar
How could I improve?
Try different angles
Different types of photos
Set up props better
What am I going to do next time to extend my idea?
Edit my photos more
Relate different ideas back to architecture
Overall
This shoot I was using Andre Kertesz as inspiration, I wanted to apply his use of shadows on objects to my own work. I did this by using a miniature model and building tools. I used purposeful arrangement to create unique shadows from the tools. I photographed this outside as I found the natural light emphasised the shadows more than the indoor light did. I found that it was hard to get a verity of images as there wasn't many objects to capture, what I could of done is rearranged the objects I had and tried different angels. From here I want to extend my work by trying to edit some of my photos more and relate my images back to my theme.

Overall
In shoot 4 I used Jerry Takigawa as my artist model, I applied the way he used a blurred black and white back ground with items on top. This shoot wasn't the most successful as some of the items I used on top of my background didn't relate to architecture so wouldn't have made sense on my board or with my other shoots. I also found that the lighting of the room I was in was too dark so hard to get a good photo. I would like to reshoot this artist model in the future but try a different background and different objects in the foreground.
