Ideas
To re-shoot the photoshoot I did underwater to try get some better quality photos that I am more happy with.
The artist model I used for this shoot was Sarah Lee
Evaluation
What worked?
I was able to find suitable settings in terms of timing, depth of field, focus, lighting and framing. I also was a lot better towards the end of the shoot with holding my breath and posing under the water.
What didn't work how could this be improved?
Since I shot this on a cold, windy day with no sun I wasn't able to spend a lot f time on this shoot. It was extremally cold. However this shot was supposed to be a re-shot just to get better quality photos, which I think I achieved.
What are you going to do next time to extend your idea?
From now on I will not be using the pool in any other shoots and none of the others will be underwater. I have played around enough with this idea, it is time to move on.
Ideas
I had a failed photoshoot within the bath tub. The lighting and the colors were awful and I really struggled with the self portraiture. So instead I went to Days Park during a sunny afternoon and just played around with lighting, framing, depth of field and subject matter. At I stuck near the water and then I ventured out with new subject matter.
Evaluation
What worked?
I loved playing with the lighting and depth of field and how these aspects turned out in the photos. I loved the aesthetic, details and colours of the photos and how it both adds something different to my board while also filling in gaps. I really enjoyed this shoot.
What didn't work how could this be improved?
Apart from the fact that I had a failed shoot beforehand, this photoshoot went the most smoothly, I enjoyed it the most and I like a lot of the photos I captured.
What are you going to do next time to extend your idea?
The next location that I would like to shoot in is Woodlands as another self portraiture shoot.
Ideas
This shoot was inspired by the location, Woodlands Estate. My idea for this shoot was to use some of my props and subject matter. Specifically I wanted to introduce the Tea pot and the vintage frame of my great aunt. I also used some pearls. I also wanted to get more shots with my hair in them.
Evaluation
What worked?
I really enjoyed using the tea pot and the frame and how they turned out in the photos. I was a big fan of how the colours, textures and lighting turned out. I also really liked experimenting with the connection between humans and nature. I really enjoyed this photographing this shoot.
What didn't work how could this be improved?
I didn't have many problems with this shoot. I had my mum there to help me so the shoot went very smoothly.
What are you going to do next time to extend your idea?
Next I am going to look for more artists models in order to find some new ideas to extend my work.
Ideas:
To take a big leap within my work to further explore and extend the ideas on my board. I wanted to further explore and extend the ideas coming from the frames and old, vintage photos.
I used the New Zealand artist model Erena Baker.
Evaluation
What worked?
Using the photography studio made the lighting in my jewellery photos really interesting and more complex than when I was just using natural light. I was also able to figure out the right shutter speed for the self portraiture as well as framing and lighting.
What didn't work how could this be improved?
I only realised later that I forgot to use frames within my photos. This is something I would like to include within my board to show the regeneration of the frame idea.
What are you going to do next time to extend your idea?
Apart from intergrating frames into my work more, I believe that I could stull use a a few more big jumps in terms of ideas. Meaning I think my next shoot should also be something quite different.
