Ideas
To start investigating my theme (Ophelia) for the year. To start playing around and to just start photographing.
Evaluation
What worked?
I was able to get some photos that were unexpected as it was difficult to see what photos I was getting.
What didn't work how could this be improved?
I couldn't get close enough to the water/Lilypad's. I got very dirty (covered in duck poop). The lighting was also very challenging, the direct sunlight and harsh shade made things difficult. Getting photographs of my own hair that were in focus and good lighting was also very difficult without a tripod.
What are you going to do next time to extend your idea?
Next time I'm going to bring better suited clothing and shoes as well as a tripod.
Ideas
To try my first shoot underwater using the artist model Sarah Lee
I was able to borrow a camera case and other equipment after my neighbor who is a professional photographer (and teacher). I had to use small weights from ankle weights and scale weights to weigh down the camera in the water. I also had to be very precise with settings and the self timer as I was doing self portraiture. The only outside help I had was from someone holding onto the floaty that the camera was attached to.

Evaluation
What worked?
My camera didn't get wet and the case worked really well. The weights also really helped weigh down the case (so it could be fully submerged in the water). The way I hung the camera from a floaty also worked really well. I also found that my photos were a lot better after some editing in Lightroom.
What didn't work how could this be improved?
I couldn't get the correct timing or settings right. It was extremally challenging to get the right framing, timing, lighting, exposure and focus.
What are you going to do next time to extend your idea?
I would like to retry this photoshoot to try improve the photos. I want to try play with the timing a bit more and hopefully that will hope with both framing and focus. I also want to play with the settings a little more to try correct the lighting, exposure, depth of field and focus. I also might want to try bring in some props.
Ideas
To create still life photos inspired by the class chosen artist model. I wanted to use glassware and freeze flowers within them. I also used an acrylic sheet for reflects and a navy piece of fabric.

What worked?
Using the reflections with the acrylic sheet and water/droplets.
What didn't work how could this be improved?
At first I really struggled with the still life arrangements. I felt very limited and was not inspired. As soon as the ice started to melt, I started playing around more was able to generate more ideas. I personally found this photoshoot very challenging.
What are you going to do next time to extend your idea?
Next I will be doing a shoot with another class chosen artist model, Jerry Takigawa. In this shoot I will try to pull together certain elements from my previous shoots.
Ideas
To photograph using the class chosen artist model Jerry Takigawa. First we blurred some photos from previous shoots and turned them black and white. I printed those edited photos as well as some coloured photos to help better convey my theme. Then i used objects from my previous shoot on top of the blurred photos.

Evaluation
What worked?
Putting the photos in the glasses worked really well and I loved how it looked. It gave me lots of inspiration and other ideas that could be played around with. I also loved the way all the colours worked together. I also like the way the rocks looked and how it tied in my theme.
What didn't work how could this be improved?
The reflections of the glasses were quite tricky with lighting at some points. At first I also struggled with the compositions.
What are you going to do next time to extend your idea?
For my next shoot I need to start connecting my ideas as currently nothing fits together. All of my shoots are very disjointed. My teacher suggested that next I do a photoshoot with some more self portraiture with flowers, fabric and glassware.
