This shoot I wanted to play with exstreme close up and add some texture to my board as I felt my half board was lacking in depth of field and most of my shots were from far away or landscape.
I wanted to link my photo of my dad holding the crayfish to providing for the family so I took some extreme close ups of the crayfish.
Key features of his work exstreme close up

Foccusses on the eyes.
I really enjoyed this shoot and it was really interesting playing with the close up and the depth I could get of the crayfish I think is really cool. I still think it would be really cool to play with the micro lense but im not sure how that would turn out.
Adding onto this shoot I also played with trying to link my board together. I have hunting, fishing, faming and surfing. Im not sure how I will link this together but I tryed to play with objects in different locations. I took my redbands to the beach and then im also going to have another one with the gumboots at the farm with the cows. Future ideas im thinking of going to a deer farm to try get some close up shots if my photos from my hunting trip arent enough.
This photo is my favourite I played with black and white and layering and kept the red bands in colour.

Experimentation
These photos were editied on photoshop keeping part of the image black and white while the rest is in colour. The reason I am playing with both colour and black and white is because im trying to find a way to link colour and black and white on my board so it doesnt feel harsh but more purposeful.

This shoot I wanted to reinvestigate the idea of the gumboots in the previous shoot. And I tryed to portray the different parts of a kiwi lifestyle. Atm I dont have enough for it to really link. This was a small shoot, I got a few cool photos but overall it doesnt link enough to my idea. Robin morrinson is a photographer who captures memories through the people and their places. I think I could reshoot using him as an artest model but I believe the location was wrong.
Exsperimentation
I also exsperimented with some wildlife documentary photography in which I saw a shag eating a snapper and some seals sunbathing on nearby rocks.
I also tryed some photographing some seafood
I played around with some night photography but was a struggle without a tripod
Reflection
Overall liked this shoot, would have liked to shoot a crayfish with micro lense but I got pretty close with the normal lense anyway. Food and documantary exsperementation was cool but unorigional I need to start playing with different angles to shoot things. And find some more documentary artest models.
Next shoot could get photos of some fish and chips from a fish and chip shop. "kellys" maybe
comes back to the idea of kiwiana
could bring in jandals at some stage.
Need to really link the diving and underwater aspects of my shoots.
Natalie Robertson plays with transparency, layering of zoomed in map, lines and coordinates onto old photos. In her workbook stages she also had layering of photos ontop of maps and coastline.
This investigation was mostly exsperiemental using photoshop and different photos related to my theme which I could find.
Her work
Combined with old historic photo of Oamaru Bay found online using photoshop.
Utilised past photo taken in shoot 3 and an old photo of me from over 10 years ago.
This image I played with photoshop and layering of maps to look like one of the photos was a printed map
Origional
Edited with photoshop to layer map ontop
This exsperiment almost reinvestigates Jerry takigawa. Could reshoot this and play with fishing mags, old photos and potentially hooks/ lures.
Photo I used for layering found online
Exspermented with layering as I felt my board needed another photo to link diving with crayfish. The colour however isnt right for the folio and is a bit dark.
Planning for this shoot I want to get some close ups of the dive tanks, wetsuits, fish and chips. Jandals. Printing maps. Get some more underwater photos.
