Child of the Week will be an opportunity for each student in the class to get to know one another throughout the first few weeks of the school year. Every Monday (for Group A) and every Wednesday (for Group B) a child will be randomly selected to be the child of the week for the following week. Each student in the class will have the opportunity to be child of the week.
Parents and students will be informed a week in advance when their child is child of the week so that they have the opportunity to complete an "All About Me" poster that will be sent home with the child to complete.
When it is time for the student to be child of the week, they will explain their "All About Me" poster to the class, and the poster will be put in the classroom with the rest of the "All About Me" posters.
I am so excited to implement Child of the Week! I believe this is an opportunity for all students to get to know one another and to share some things that make them unique in their own lives. Child of the week will continue throughout the entire school year, but students will only be required to complete their "All About Me" poster for their first week.
