The CCP helps students realize their full potential. The West Covina Unified School District's Comprehensive Counseling Program is designed to provide social-emotional support for educationally related mental health needs to students in General Education.
The CCP provides therapeutic support in areas such as mood/affect, behavior problems, conduct difficulties, and social skills. Students may attain increased self-esteem, mood regulation, and enhanced relationships with peers, teachers, and staff. Counseling sessions take place at the school and sessions are individual or group.
How do students receive services through CCP?
Students are referred to the program by school staff, typically a teacher or school counselor.
What can CCP help with?
CCP is designed to help students with social and emotional support for school related issues. For students with more serious mental health concerns or who need services for a longer term, we can provide referrals.
How long do CCP services typically last?
CCP offers short-term services, typically lasting 8-12 sessions. We can provide referrals for students who have longer term needs.
