ADVANCED DIGITAL DESIGN COURSE DESCRIPTION

Grades 10, 11, 12 1 credit

Not recommended for students enrolling in ski schools

Course Prerequisite: Two years of level I art or portfolio review

Advanced Digital Design is intended for experienced art students in either Graphic Design and/or Digital Photography who are ready to explore personal avenues and develop a digital artistic literacy within a variety of digital art mediums. This course is for the student who may be preparing for AP art the following year, the student who wants to develop an art portfolio, and/or the motivated art student ready to take their Photography or Graphic Design practice to the next level. The course is designed around portfolio development and is based both on the current portfolio requirements by top art colleges in the country and AP Studio Art Digital Portfolio guidelines. With an emphasis on digital art production, this class is also designed to develop higher-level thinking, and a broader range of technical skills in a range of mediums and styles, art criticism, art history, and aesthetics.
