Building Our Future Together
Thank you for visiting our Capital Improvements Proposition page! We want to make sure the community is fully informed before the May 20, 2025 vote.
Proposition 2 will help us respond to the changing needs of our families. To put it simply, we need more space to provide vital services. This isn't based on future projections; these are real-time needs in our buildings, today.
Currently we have to offer "Art on a Cart" in some classes; essential AIS (Academic Intervention Services) in hallways; and have Special Education students change schools to go where a program is offered, to name just a few challenges.
How will we find space? We'll add on to our junior high schools and move 6th grade there--opening up space in our elementary schools, while offering our 6th graders more access to tech classes, high-school level courses and more.
Proposition 2 also includes so much more: essential improvements to our secondary-school athletic facilities, and many other structural upgrades and repairs district-wide.
Add 37 total middle-school classrooms: Offer more exploratory classes and electives to 6th graders
Free up 33 total elementary-school classrooms for services like AIS, as well as art classes, band lessons, and more
Allow Special Education students to stay in their home school, by opening up more classes in our buildings
Reduce the need to send students out of district for programs
Offer support for our English Language Learners
Upgrade athletic facilities at secondary schools: new turf fields and more access for community teams
Building improvements district-wide: repairs and upgrades
The architect's presentation includes a list of improvements, cost estimates, and more.
Our Needs Assessment presentation offers a detailed discussion of needs, and how we envision using the additional space.
