By giving students and staff more space, we can give them more support.
Student needs have outgrown the space in our elementary schools. Moving Grade 6 to the middle schools will add 33 classrooms across the elementary buildings. This means we can:
Bring Universal Pre-K classes into our buildings, instead of outside venues
Offer programs for our English Language Learners
Make room for art classes, band lessons, and important services (a space for social workers, AIS services, and more).
Create continuity: many students now have to enroll wherever a program is offered. If we offer more Integrated Co-Taught (ICT) classes at each building and expand self-contained classes, they can stay in their home school.
